About us

Philip Taylor served his joinery apprenticeship with Muir Construction, part of the Muir Group. During this time he gained a City & Guilds in Advanced Craft and Site Practice at the then Lauder Technical College, Dunfermline, as well as being awarded HNC in National Building Studies.

In 1997, with the help of a loan from the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), he started Taylor Joinery Services as a sole trader, as he had recognised the market and demand for an experienced and well qualified joiner to serve the still expanding community of Dalgety Bay.

As demand for his expertise grew, he added qualified joiners to his staff and employs four time-served joiners, one apprentice, a labourer as well as office staff.

Over the years, Philip has built up a working relationship with other tradesmen including builders, plasterers, tilers, decorators, plumbers, electrician and roofers who now form an efficient team. He also enjoys a good working relationship with firms of Architects and Structural Engineers. As a result, the customer has the benefit of a complete package with continuity in the work from start to finish, and is assured of quality and reliability.

Philip’s business, is built on hard work, good management and fair and proper dealings with staff, other trades, and customers alike. He has built up a solid customer base as a result of an excellent reputation which has spread beyond Dalgety Bay to other surrounding towns and villages, as far afield as Edinburgh and West Lothian.
